Interesting.

Were I a Lexus dealer, I'd have a fire sale on all my in stock ES 300's. Pronto!

Very good comparison. Again, the cars compete for different buyers. Lexus sold 70k ES 330s last year. I posted in the other thread, you can have multple cars that mix-match in size and sometime price and they will appeal to different people.

Exactly. If i too were a lexus dealer, id defnitely have an awesome lease deal or something VERY enticing on my ES330's and remaning allocation of ES stock ASAP.

The avalon defnitely is one awesome car at a super value.

Indeed... You can rest assured that luxury brand will always have details executed better than normal brand, which is why people will still buy ES330... I am sure ES350 will bring that point out even more...

Are we expecting a body change on the ES soon?

The current Camry is, what 4 or 5 years old? I think it would be due for a refresh within the next year and a half, so whenever that's out, the new ES will be sure to follow soon. I guess the ES could be done on the Avalon structure (which is a stretched and modified version of the Camry platform, itself, I believe), letting it be out sooner, though.

Something interesting– the Avalon is actually a half inch longer than the LS430, 197.2 to 196.7

The camry and ES are going to go thru an entire complete redesign. The ES which will follow thru with its L-Finesse new styling like the IS and GS... and the camry which will totally transform as well.

Cool

Awesome comparo chart! Thanks for sharing ak! I'd buy the Avalon all day & twice on Sundays personally.......the only advantage the GS has imo, is the AWD option but even with 245 hp compared to the Avalon's 280, dosent' make sense to me at the much higher price (and less interior room).

I agree big-time with 99 LS as well......it better be a huge 'fire sale' on the ES 330's!

The ES is due for a redesign next year........& it will be based on the new platform that underpins the all new Avalon! Stay tuned! This should be intresting.

From what i know from my uncle who works as a toyota exec, the redesigned camry is set to be launched next year in 2007 as a 2007 model. He told me "Akber it will be one incredibly gorgeous lookign car".

The camry is also set up to wow its target demographic market.

Stay tuned for more info folks...
