Default Washington Auto Show & 06 GS

Yes, the 06 GS is already setup at the show. I'm a employee of a local Lexus and during setup last weekend the 06 GS was dropped off. Looks even better in person then any photos I've seen.
Just letting everyone know!!

How do you know this isn't the same mule that has made the car show circuit for the past year?
I saw a list of all the suposed premiers at Detroit and the new GS is not listed.

I meant the production version. Heck it seems no one seems sure if entry model will be GS300 or GS350.

It's going to be a production version GS300. Not a GS350 in North America at least. Believe what you like.

Merry Christmas!

flipside909....do u have any information regarding the options? From seeing the pictures from lexus of glendale it appears the GS300 will now offer a wooden package (on steering wheel and transmission shift ****) - something only available on the GS430. But then again, the picture of the lexus of glendale GS depicted an AWD version, so it may only be offered for the AWD and GS430. Do you have any insight on whether all the models will offer the same package?

From talking to my lexus dealer, he told me the same thing - it may only be offered for the first time on a GS300, but only the AWD model, and off course the GS430. He says he is not quite sure at the moment if the base GS300 will also offer it or not.

Im planning on getting a graphite gray with black interior. Oh speaking of which, do you know if a sport package will be offered liek the 02 model?

Any word on the pricing that you are aware about since I have no clue about that as it is not been told to dealerships (so they claim)?

And if you dont mind,,, what is your contact number I can reach you on to talk about the car. I had some other info i wanted to share and ask you about if you dont mind.

Thanks

The info they're getting is about as current as the information i'm getting. The wood trim on the steering wheel will be packaged. It is not known if it's model specific or etc. But you will see the 3 wood color options on the appropriate interior color trim.

The one I saw in Miami was a production model GS300 (no AWD) and it had wood trim on steering wheel, shift ****, doors and bottom console
We can be pretty sure that it will be at least offered as an option.

The one you saw in Miami is a Pre-Production hand built unit like the other ones that are circulated throughout the country.

VitMn, Do you know if the RX400h will be there as well? Does your Lexus dealer offer free tickets? Thanks!

It's definately GS300. It is my understanding that the 2006 is a GS300 and next year will be a GS350 (same engine as the new IS350), then the following year (September 2006) they are hoping to come out with the GS450H. A Hybrid sedan with 450 horsies. This is the latest "official information" I've gotten.

They did the same thing with the redesign of the 2002 ES300, then in 2003 it became the ES330, but I didn't notice a significant power increase. I've seen the new GS in person and I think it looks HOT, I would absolutely drive that car, no question. You have to see it in person and not in pictures, they don't do justice to the car. I think the GS300 will sell just fine. There's a lot of people on these forums who don't like it, but there's a whole other market out there who love the car and we will bring in new clientele with the new GS and new IS. (The new IS looks like a baby version of the GS, think BMW 5 series and 3 series). I, for one, cannot wait for the new products to come out. I look forward to reaching a younger, hipper audience with the new line up of muscle!

In this image from the official info thread, each interior color is shown with a different color wood. Does this mean that these combinations will be the only ones available, or will I be able to get the black leather interior with the black wood?

I'm sure I'm asking this question too early but maybe somebody has some info.
