Default question about downshift rev matching when engine is cold

Hi I'm new to the gs3, I've owned gs2 and gs1 before but I know the gs3 is a leap forward in technology.

I'm wondering if the engine is supposed to rev up to match rpm when the engine is cold. My experience is that the engine revs up about 500rpm or more when downshifting when the engine is cold, and its less than 40f outside, is that normal on this car?

I'm hoping to get some help with this issue which is further detailed here:

Thanks!

Hello

Thats normal for this gen i have owned two of them and they both do this. When cold the rpm is higher on shifting and on a complete stop its basically trying to warm itself. I live in Canada so it gets pretty cold up here. I noticed these cars do not like to be cold.

Thanks for the reply, i thought maybe a MAF or throttle position sensor was going out or something. I had the transmission fluid completely replaced resulting in no change in functionality, I keep hearing conflicting info on doing that service at high miles.
I really appreciate the feedback THANKS!

i dont really like that high rpm when cold, when in a parking lot and the car wants to be at 1400rpm its almost like youre fighting to keep it under control
