Intermittent Engine light
Hi i have a 2008 Lexus GS 450h and it drives wonderfully. It has about 225k km on it, (160k miles). The hybrid battery was replaced by Lexus a few years ago. so it's not that.
I upgraded to a newer Lexus hybrid with a smaller motor to save on fuel so I am trying to sell the GS.
Everytime someone want to look at it and sees the engine light on they shy away.
Unfortunately, no one seems to know how to fix it. I've taken it to 3 places, 1 place said sell it (the was Lexus), the other place said it was a faulty sensor (changed it. no difference)
and the last place I went to said I should see an auto electrician as he suspects it's something like a solenoid.
This is the engine fault code:
P0017 Camshaft position correlation (Bank 1 Sensor B)
Anyone have any insight into what the real issue is?
Again. the car drives great and gets good economy. So I'm thinking this is a warning for something bigger in the future maybe?
