Default Winter Tires 245/45/R18 ?

Hello Everyone, New member here.
I recently got a 2007 GS450h for my daily commute. I just have a question regarding tires (Hope this is the correct thread). The tires that came on the car are 245 40 18.
I had grabbed a set of Blizzaks 245/45/R18 as winter tires; I did not think the change would cause any issues. But the shop i went to, to get my tires installed said that its more 3% size difference (3.9% to be specific) and that would cause all sorts of problems with the ABS and traction and he said it wont be safe. I just want to see if anyone had such experience and if the shops claims are legit.

I do not want to sell and get a new set of tires, I was able to get the Blizzaks for a good deal ($350, they are practically new. Used for one season).

Could be wrong but I've not heard of taller tyres all round causing problems. Not an expert but doesn't ABS monitor rotation on all four wheels? So taller tyres on just the front or just the rear might throw a fault but you're not doing that. I'm sure someone with more technical knowledge may be along later.

They might rub at lock though.

I thought about running 245/45R18 once. But I dug up some decade old threads where members tried that and they had rubbing at full lock. I didn’t want to deal with that. So I stuck to the factory tire size.

I don’t think it should cause any issues with ABS or ESC or anything like that though.
