Default Upgrading amp with JBL

Hello guys

the problem is the original amplifier Mark Levinson is blowing fuses RAD 1 and RAD 2. At the end the amp was blown too. I was advised to replace the original with a new JBL 86280-0C130
Which costs less than buying a used Mark Levinson amp

I was told the JBL lasts more than original and don’t need to cut any wires just need connector to install

what is your advice guys?

I would find out what is causing the blown fuses first. Your current amp may be defective (usually caused by water damage from the rubber flaps rotting out). I would test your system with a known working ML amp. Unfortunately, the JBL amp is only compatible with the base Pioneer system. Even if you didn’t use the fiber optic line on the ML, one of the connectors is different.

yeah i found out the causing the blown fuses is the amplifier that’s why I’m thinking about changing it
the dealer said he’s gonna connect it and it is totally compatible all channels but I don’t know

The Lexus dealer told you this? Unfortunately, you’ll need to replace it with another ML amp. The JBL amp is “compatible” with the base Pioneer system, but the speaker outputs are slightly different. I’m in the process of upgrading my sound system, so I’ve been experimenting to see what fits.

I have found tha the only real difference between the ML and basic Pioneer is that the Pioneer does not have (I think) two of the smaller speakers. To me, no real difference in sound quality.
If you didn't know, a ML head unit was powered by the Pioneer unit, you would never guess.
