Default Transmission swap-compatibility

I have a 2006 GS430, transmission is developing 2-1 downshift problems.
I am looking at swapping in a transmission from a 2010 GS300.
Externally the same item from the bell back.
Internals? I recall reading somewhere, way back, that the V8 trans had beefier bearings, not a problem for me as I don't drive it hard.
Anyone done this swap?
Anyone aware of any problems with doing it?
Thanks.

Only the 2006 and 2007 GS430 will work.

Have you properly diagnosed your transmission? The only reason I would replace a transmission is when the fluid get cooked, meaning the clutch discs get burned out. Have you tried replacing the fluid? Have you put the car on a good scan tool and pinged the solenoids? Have you sent out the ecu to get it checked out?

Scan tool, foxwell NT301, not bringing up any codes.
Problem has only just started. Reason I was asking is I have a 2010 GS300 parts car in my garage, that I will be parting.A1 trans
GS 430 is 2006, done300,000 kilometers, parts car GS300 has only done 150,000 Kilometers.
Figure the 430 trans will not live forever with that on clock, Doing a filter and fluid drain this weekend, if it changes shifts for the better, great, if it doesn't I wont persevere, if a GS300 trans will work, just put it in.
Need to know if it will work.

Fluid drain and fills are important, if the vehicle has never had the fluid changed. I would not recommend you drop the oil pan and replace the filter just yet, not until you have done atleast 2 drain and fills. If you have replaced fluid previosly then its fine to swap out the filter and clean the magnets. If its the first time replacing fluid keep and eye on the condition of the fluid.

These transmissions are bullet proof, aslong as you replace the fluids and filter. They can last many more kms. These are the same transmissions found in toyota tundras. Of course you will have many differences.
