Hi I recently acquired a 2006 GS 300 with a bad motor I got the car so cheap that I figured I’d put a new motor in it. I was wondering before I did if it was possible to put in the V8 from the 460. If anyone has any info or has attempted to do it please let me know. Sorry if this has alrighty been asked but I am new to the club and am having trouble finding anything posted on the topic if there has been. Thank you.

 

Anything is possible with enough skill and money. It is far cheaper and easier to buy a car that already had a V8 engine.

 

Well it's definitely possible, seeing as how Lexus did it many times with the GS460 lol.

Would this be your first engine swap?

 

Bad motor as in totally blown up or rebuildable. If its rebuildable make it a project and rebuild the engine yourself, fix it cheaply. Then if you wanted a v8 you can sell the v6 to buy a v8. To go from v6 to v8 swap will be a nightmare if you do not have a wrecked v8 gs460 donor car. Those little nuts bolts plugs etc will flip your budget 2 or 3 times more then what you planned for.

 

Go look on drive2.ru car logbooks, there are a few owners there who have done the UZ swap.
