Default simple relay question

I have been trying to diagnose a no-start problem and was going to replace the EFI relay. I bought a relay but was sent a multipurpose one. I have a Denso relay with the part number 156700-1020 and the one in the car looks identical to this one, they both have 12v on them, but a different part number is on it. It may seem like a stupid question but can my new relay substitute the old one? also its a 2000 gs300

I am new to the GS forum and haven't even bought one yet. But I do own an 02 SC430 w all the service manuals. If your Engine Room No.2 Relay locations are like mine, you already have multiple relays that you can swap with. This picture shows where my EFI Relay is located. There are six other Relays that can be swapped into that location or vice versa. I like using the horn relay for testing. Unplug the Horn Relay, plug your new relay into that location and press the horn. Horn sounds? Good relay. Your new EFI Relay should be the same. I imagine the aftermarket just went with one P/N vice six in my case. Plug it in to the horn location. You'll know then w 100% certainty. Good luck.
