thats not true wilassaion, there are filters the prevent some smells leaking in to your care, they run about 30 bucks, it might not totaly clear the smell but cut it down drasticaly
Go to HomeDepot to get
1. a replacement for your AC Filter like Martialart did.
2. get active charcoal filter (about 3 millimeter thick) cost about $12-$15. I double my filter with this active charcoal.
3. spray Lysol Disinfectant (albertson or walgreen must have this) every now and then.
I live in San Francisco where it fogs a lot.... humidity cause bad bad smell in here.
However after I doulbe my AC filter with Active Charcoal, I haven't notice any problem for about 3 months now...
The problem is mildew on the outside of the coil under the dash.......Open the hood find where the condensation from the ac drips out maybe two drain holes , put a small tube in it long enough so you can pour in some diluted disinfectant ( pinesol or lysol ) You will need a funnel on the hose to pour in about a pint of your mixture the remove the funnel and blow it all in hold the hose up to keep mixture in system for about 5min.then remove hose and start car and run ac with windows down until most of the disinfectant is gone........The disinfectant smell will last a few days( if you car his two condensation drains under hood on firewall put another hose in that to plug it........................This is the only way to remove the mildew from outside coil without taking everything apart..............I have done this on different cars and it really works..........PM me if you have any questons.............MIKE
