Stalling Issue When Decelerating
So recently I installed a new head unit and two amps in my GS 400. During the installation I also figured, why not clean my cold air intake (loosened hose clamp, removed filter and cleaned it, re-installed). Excitedly, I went for a drive. Within 10 minutes, as I was coming to a stop, my car stalled. This happened again about 5 more times before I decided to head back home. After a couple days of troubleshooting between my battery (bought a new one as the old one was from 8/2017) and disconnected the power wire from my amps. To this day, my car will stall about one time during my commute to and from work. I've noticed that my once I take my foot off the gas pedal, if I'm near 30 mph, the RPMs will just free fall and it's a hit or miss as to whether or not it will keep going until stall, or until it bounces off ~400 RPM and idles properly. This happens similarly if I'm coasting to a stop or if I start braking. I'm really confused as to what the issue is. Tomorrow I plan on going to Autozone before work to get a scan for some check engine light codes.
My guesses so far are: failing brake booster (shoot me), a vacuum leak somewhere, an idle control valve misbehaving, not waiting long enough after my car was disconnected from the battery for the ECU to properly set fuel-air ratio, or engine misfire. I'd like to note that what's really sounding alarms in my head is the fact that I took off the cold air intake filter, which I believe is the cause of all of this, in addition to maybe resetting my ECU and not letting my car idle for about 10 minutes. I'll post the trouble codes here before I go into work.
Thanks!
