I’m in the dfw area and have been looking for a decent gs400. They seem hard to locate and when I have found them they are somewhat beat up and driven harshly. Does anybody have any suggestions or should I steer more towards a gs300?

nooooo. Gas mileage is almost the same and the 300 isn’t fun to drive at all. No offense to 300 owners. Just be patient. There’s a nice clean black GS400 with a fresh paint job but the guy wants 9k. In this market that’s fair. This is NY though.
GS400 are a rare to find to great shape. But the GS430 is equivalent to the 400 except one or 2 features it doesn't have. Expand your search to every state & have your $$$$ already in hand. Be prepared to have $12,000 to buy at a moments notice. The price includes getting the car shipped here from another state. And once u get one, do the 90,000 schedule maintenance. Take it to Ase Certified shop to tell you what's wrong with the car & needs to be fixed. That may run you another 4gs to 6gs....depending on where you buy your parts from & the shop that charges for labor.
I found you one yesterday. I was driving in Southlake and saw a pearl white GS400 with an older couple in it. Most likely a one owner that has had it forever. I should have signaled them to pull over. LOL. I am sure it was a gem. I am slightly offended as a GS300 owner. Someday I will get a turbo installed......But I understand the want for the V8. Good luck on your search.
