Default Fixing drivers door action

The drivers door on my 01 gs430 has seen some use. All the other doors still close smooth and solid though, and id like to return the drivers door to that condition. Does anybody know what this would entail? Replacing(or adjusting) hinges? I must say this type of project isnt something im familiar with, so any info or redirects would be greatly appreciated. Tia!

Generally the hinges don't wear out and don't need lubricating, in fact I've seen them get gunked up and not work poorly due to over lubricating. 100% cleaning and greasing the door check would be the first place I'd start. If you don't know what a door check is it's what keeps the door from flying completely open and hitting the fender. Looks like this.

I've had good success using this grease not sure if you can buy it in the U.S.

Don't like it for brakes but has just the right properties to work on the plastic bits on the door check.

I'll look into that and hopefully it will cure my problem. Im actually glad its not likely the hinge, i do know what a pain those can be. The part you showed me is definitely where alot of the noise is coming from. But i also notice a little "catch" right as the door is almost completely closed. Either way, ill start with this and see where it gets me. Thanks

Is there any method of adjustment on the door to improve how it fits? Ive used shims on an old ford pickup for this type of thing, just wondered if theres something else there im not aware of?

You’ve got to start with a good inspection and look for any sign of issue. Check the entire jam for an scrapping, check the door action by swinging it and feel for anything that isn’t smooth. Try identify what the issue is? It’s possible it was in an accident or something in the past and it wasn’t reinstalled straight or there is something bent, it’s hard for someone to help without access to the car. So you’ll have to try and identify the problem and then get back to us. If you aren’t sure, take photos of the hinges, latch, and jam for us to take a look at. Good luck
