Question STUPID Question - Seeking Comments

This might be a dumb stupid question but can't find any answers online...

Going away for a few months, and a rear tire has sidewall leaking issues (< 0.5 lbs per day), so I jacked up the car at that one tire.

Leaving the car jacked up at one wheel for a few months is completely harmless right?

TIA !!

As long as the vehicle is supported on a solid location.

If repairing the tire now isn't an option, I'd put the spare on and let it sit on that instead. This way, someone you left the keys with can move the car periodically to prevent flat spotting on the tires. You did arrange that right?

Otherwise you should jack it up on all four corners otherwise you'll be replacing all four tires when you get back instead of one.

Why is that... how are the other 3 tires impacted if pressurized at 50 lbs psi?

Just looking for some answers to this...

Namely if you leave the other 3 tires down on the ground they effectively have load on them for those few months. This can lead to increased dryrotting and potentially even flatspots on the tire itself. Dryrotting means the tire will become unsafe to use at higher speeds and may risk blowing out. Flatspots mean the tire isn't round anymore, so you will feel steering vibrations and the like. It is best to jack a car up on 4 corners and let all the tires basically just hang there instead of adding unnecessary load to them
