Default Car feels like its "floating" or hydroplaning

Hey yall,
I have a 98 GS300 with an Aristo swap. I had to put my stock wheels back on the car because my 19s were a little bent. I had to run 1 inch spacers to clear the calipers. I have been driving around like this for a couple of months. I noticed the other day that when I get on the throttle, the whole car feels like it is hydroplaning. Everything feels loose like the car is floating. I talked to my buddy and said swap out the rack and pinion bushings. I just so happen to have some of the daizen set so I installed that. The car still feels the same. I am lowered on Cusco coil overs. I'm assuming bushings of some sort or alignment. I changed out the lower ball joints about a year ago and got an alignment maybe 4 months ago. Maybe something came loose? Any ideas or suggestions where to look?

Have you checked that the spacers and wheels are both torqued correctly?

might be a stupid question but have you checked your tire pressures? I know pressures can mind ***** ya when trying to diagnose suspension woes.

Crazy thing is, yesterday, I took off a wheel to check the torque on the spacer and it seemed like the pressure was low. However, the feeling I'm getting doesnt feel like low tire pressure. I am putting my 19s on today and I am going to see how it rides.

Check your rear knuckle bushings and toe links. It sounds like something in your suspension is loose and is changing your alignment settings when accelerating

Completely agree with you Capn! Also I recommend replacing the rear knuckle bushings with Ikeya Formula solid bushings. You can find them on RHDJapan or Nengun.com.

Also are you slammed? If so you may need roll center adjusters.

Agreed, take a look at this.

I am doing a complete suspension makeover so I will comment once its done.

After you changed your steering rack bushings with the daizen, what difference did you see? I am looking to change those.

I have superpro rack bushings. Theres more feel everywhere but the deadspot that that 2GS has on center is still there and I notice it more because of the increased feel everywhere else. Worthwhile mod IMO

Change the radius rod or have the bushing replaced. Over time they wear out & makes the car feel unstable
