How many miles? Were there any symptoms of problems prior to this? Start with checking your spark and fuel see below.

Have you ever had the fuel pump replaced? I'm wondering if it's starting to go out. Turn the key to the "on" position and have someone stand near the driver rear door and see if they hear the pump "prime". There should be a light buzzing sound. You can also grab some starting fluid and spray it in the intake and see if it runs for a bit. That's how I diagnosed a bad fuel pump on our IS250.

Just started having the same problem with just about the same mileage. Mechanic plugged in his obd ll scanner and got a P0193 code. With the scanner plugged in it starts. He has no idea why. Researching it seems to point to fuel pressure sensor. He recommended taking it to the dealer since he didn’t know. We’re in flux right now!!

dwarren are you talking about a 2IS or 2GS? Just want to make sure you're in the right forum. If you have a 2IS, there is a FPS recall that Lexus can check for you through the TIS system. Give them a call if you haven't had the recall done.
