Default Not starting!!!

So after recently acquiring my gs, took it straight to my mechanic for some maintenance- cambelt, water pump, tensioners, seals, fluids, gaskets. Now when they went to do the rocker gasket they found all the coil connectors perished and the wires off them back to where it joins the rest of the loom. Note: it was obviously working before this, assuming now the issue is This has all been disturbed. Now from what I’ve read this seems to be a common problem under the cover because of heat build up. Now they heat shrinked those wires and I got them new coil connector plugs which seem to work as they should, but now there’s an issue of it not starting. They’ve tried new coils as they found 4 and 6 weren’t firing, but that wasn’t the issue as it starts but dies not long after. So they’re trying a second hand igniter as it was throwing out a ignition fault code (I can’t remember the exact one they told me) but that was a 2 days ago. Now I’m super worried I’m going to be digging deep and having to fork out for some massive electrical fix. Could anyone give me an idea of what this could be please before I go any greyer or pull what remains of hair I have left out!!! Thanks guys.
