Default Water temp sensor (for e.f.i)

Please somebody explain how a water temp senson can have anything to do with fuel injection.Because the non responsive gas pedal is backi bit the bullet and bought a tps no fix....I heard today about a idle stop solenoid i had never heard of.....the car after cruisin at 80 will slip into a gear and the throttle pedal falls away rpms go way down i have to release the pedal completely to get it to respond.....could that be the throttle assembly lever/sensor going bad it would be the easiest swap but most expensive.I dont care about the cost i just need it right and quickly.....any thoughts please feel free

EFI temp sensor is critical to proper engine operation it's one of the fundamental ways the ECU knows how to set fuel/air ratio.

There are two temp sensors.
Presuming this question is regarding a GS300, there's One on the head and one on the radiator.
The one on the head is for sensing whether the vehicle is cold and thus in open loop or warm enough to reach closed loop.

Open loop means the car is in warm up mode and will not read any necessary sensors to trim fueling.
Closed loop means o2 sensors data are being read to adjust your fuel mapping for best fuel economy and performance.

Neither of these will affect no throttle response.
95% of the time, only the components on the throttle body could cause so called "limp mode"

Scan your vehicle for codes. If P1121 is being shown as one of them then the Accelerator Pedal Position sensor is the cause. There's a video on youtube on how to fix these.

If there are any other P11** codes related to throttle body, I can guarantee you the TPS that you've replaced would NOT be the cause.

The only other components or cause would be the throttle control motor, that would be the component with black bulging cover next to the TPS. Another problem could be the TPS not being properly calibrated when you've reinstalled it. Information on how to check the above components are widely available with some google searches.
