Nice ride, definitely something rare. I see one every once and awhile!

Good choice! My friend drove one of those cars once, and thought it was a total rocket.

I agree, not for me, but a nice ride nonetheless. About 2 weeks ago, I saw a silver one that had some 19" multispoke rims, and a drop, I swear the lip on the rear rim must have been more than 4 inches!! That was crazy, I was getting out of my car when it passed by so I couldnt really absorb it all.

Is that your only car? If so, do you miss the creature comforts of the GS?

Dex,

Congrats on the new wheels.. Last year I thought for sure you would of done the deed but you kept your sweet GS.. I for one have always loved the M Coupe because it handles like no ones business and performs so sweet out of the box.. Just get some new HRE wheels from Bob with some insane lip and you're set to go.. Hameed's been bugging me to come down to Tail of the Dragon event so if things come together I might see it in person..

Yeah, the rear wheels are condusive to big lips. The wheels aren't a priority right now. The closest thing to wheels would be new wider tires, but these are nearly brand new, so that won't happen for a while. BMW undersizesd those from the factory witha 245 on a 9" rim, so, you know that look; you can kinda see how the sidewall angles inwards on that pic above.

Yep, this will be my only car. There will be a few things I might miss about the GS, but you really can't compare the two in the least. 2 totally different girlfriends, y'know?

Thanks Ken. Yes indeed. When you sit in this car, its tells you, 'play time is over; this is serious' . The seats have more bolsters than......well, I dunno, but its a different world.

Man, that would be iuncredible if you came down! Remember, the county is DRY; bring your nectar of the gods!

Thanks rominl - I really feel that CL is special, and what makles it so great is the people and the willingness to share info. I've been lurking at a few BMW Z-series communities, and the environment is actually very similar to this GS community; a sharp set of guys that share a common interest and help out however possible. The Coupes are such a small subsegment of the BMW population, they stick together really well. They take trips to the Dragon too!

I'll be around like Dr.Rick and some other alumni, but I won't post stuff about my car all the darn time.

==================

EDIT:

Here is a pic of what tires I'd go with upon replacement. can you say PorterHouse?!

hahha, don't you dare to leave here i am sure you will be around like dr rick but yeah, it depends on what group of bimmer people you are with. if you are with m5, m3, etc... people, usually they are a little bit more matured, etc... just like lexus too, gs people are generally a lot more matured.

Dex, congrats on the new car, looks great.
All you need now is some FI to get the power up .(a Hartge V8 conversion or a Euro 3.2 would be nice to)
Hope to see you still around and post some pics from time to time.

You will be missed .

Right - the MY2K are 240 with 235 torque, and the MY2K1 are the 315s.

This is plenty of zip, believe me (still a low 5s to 60 car right out of the box), and with all the grenading of the S54 motors (the 315s) I'd plenty happy with my S52

Say it isn't so Dex, can't believe you sold your beloved blue lex. This is just an early April fools joke right?

Congrads on your new purchase. I new something was up when I did you much on the CL board. Nice surprise....I am a big fan of M power.

I will have to debut my little surprise come this october hopefully. The GS will still be there...just having problems parting with it.
