Default 2jzge rebuild

I have a 99 gs300 has about 260,000 miles supposedly engine has gte pistons and rods and arp head studs from previous owner my question is would it be worth it to rebuild it completely if I wanted to boost in the future for a daily I already plan to redo the entire car just want to know if I should keep this jz for boost or just get another one.

PO's are infamous for stretching the truth... is there any way to confirm that they are really gte pistons/rods and arp head studs?

No not until I really get in there haven’t done anything to it yet except spark plugs and wires but I feel like they might be PO had the whole Aristo setup up he was either gonna boost it or sell it and get a gte which he ended up doing.

Once had a PO try to sell me a car, with 3" of engine maintenance receipts. Pointed out that the engine had been swapped, and he was showing me the receipts for the previous engine. Admitted that, and told him if he lied about the engine, then everything else was a lie, and offered him $600.

If the engine is running good and not making noises, why rebuild? Try to find pictures of the differences between ge and gte pistons and look in a cyl with a bore scope. If you see gte pistons, then the engine is probably quite capable.
