Alternator and digital display issues.
My mother-in-law owns a GS400 a 2000. I am the mechanic on this vehicle and have run into an issue I cannot solve. She has put three alternators on this vehicle from other sources. I have tried to track down this problem and have tracked it to the fusible Link bar in front of the battery. I have removed the 120 amp fusible link for the charging system and put the cables back in with the bolts attached. I am still getting continuity left to right with the fusible link taken out. Anybody got any ideas where I need to be looking to fix this issue from here. Other important information maybe... With all screws and wires detached from the fusible Link bar on the 120 amp fusible link I have continuity with the wire on the 8 mm screw with the panel on the 10 mm side. when they are screwed together it creates continuity all the way through I have not tried this with the battery in and turning the key on and fear of damaging something further. when a fresh battery is put into the vehicle the digital display inside the vehicle for the touch screen seems to be faded and not working at capacity. The touch screen seems to have to warm up now instead of just coming on. as the battery wears down from not receiving a full charge from the alternator the screen will fade out with the battery. all fuses and fuse blow links are completely intact showing no fail and nowhere and no corrosion anywhere. This vehicle is throwing absolutely no codes at all. They alternator put on this vehicle have been rebuilt or remanufactured from local parts dealers. I still have the original alternator here.
