Hoovie just sold his E60 M5... after following that thread, maybe getting 500hp/torque would be cheaper with the GS4...!

[QUOTE=sbagdon;10477731]Maybe it's having driven a Miata R Spec, yet it's been run with cheap pads, and autocross pads, without ABS, and there's a huge difference in feel/fade. Granted, the cost difference is $50 vs. $300 for the set, yet I wouldn't mind our GS4 having a bit more feel, and a bit less fade. Not autocross level, yet oem-quality "stock" rotors/pads are a big disappointing, for feel/fade.

I guess I should have been clearer when I said that the only reason to upgrade brakes on a street car is for looks. I agree that some aftermarket pads will give better bite and feel than will stock pads. What I meant was that there is no reason to go for bigger rotors and calipers if you can lock the brakes with the calipers/rotors that you already have.

Agreed. Tires before wheels, pads before rotors...

Yes but if you are planning to go with new wheels or a BBK eventually and are buying tires, you need to make sure your wheels clear the brakes you're planning to put on the car.

So I got a fun question. It does pertain to handling(braking). Is it possible to run the is300 or ls400 brake booster and master cylinder in place of the electric nightmare the gs has? If not, anyone know for certain what the plugs do on the gs300 assembly? Reason I ask is mine failed this morning and puked fluid down my firewall.

Best thing to do is order a replacement JDM unit from an Aristo on ebay for $250. Had to do this when I got mine. Replacement is no harder than a normal booster. 4 bolts from under the dash, two lines, and three or 4 electrical connectors. Bleeding is like any other car. Had an easy time with it.

Been a little while. Anyway, got coilovers, bushings, brakes all installed. Brake booster assembly failed and puked fluid down the firewall. Anyway, the car now has an Avalon booster and master conversion. Also swapped a black interior in. Now, the car doesn’t run due to what I assume to be an immobilizer issue or a bad fuel pump. Oh lord when it rains it pours.
