Replace gs400 hid headlight units

Granted this is my experience, and I've had a few awful experiences with Crooober, for every good pair of headlights on Croooober 5 bad pairs muddle the search. OP should just buff and clear or bite the bullet and enjoy his shiny, new assemblies like you and others have suggested anyways.

One thing you'll want to watch out for - if your GS has factory HIDs and you buy non-HID housings, obviously your OEM bulbs and ballasts won't work, and you'll lose the self-leveling feature.
When I replaced mine years ago (my car is a 2000) I went with the 01+ greenish-tint HID housings and I transferred all of my OEM bulbs and ballasts over to the new housings. Has worked well with no issues. I have a thing about lighting and safety, so I went with new OEM housings from Lexus.
Not sure you can find aftermarket housings that will accommodate the OEM HID self-leveling, ballasts, and bulbs.

halo adapters?
dude, this isn’t rocket science. He answered your question multiple times. You have four options and it’s your job to research the costs associated with each one. 1) save and buy a brand new oem set online, 2) check this site or eBay for good, used oem lamps, 3) restore you existing oem lens, or 4) convert everything to a halogen setup

I found a trick to save the lenses... Take a lemon and cut it in half, dip it in baking soda and scrub the lenses with it and rinse after a few minutes of scrubbing. After a few passes your lenses won't be fogged and yellow. I did this on my 98 GS400 and saved myself a few $$$$

I wanted to upgrade my old weathered oem hid lamps but I found zero aftermarket options. I just bit the bullet and splurged on new oem sub assemblies(just lenses, no bulbs or ecu’s). They are about $1200 retail for the pair. Instantly transformed the look of the car.
