You won't get a car that doesn't need repairs for $2,500, Lexus or not. And a $2,500 GS will need a lot of repairs. Have a look at the threads being posted daily, about random stuff failing. If you have no problem potentially dealing with these issues, then go for it. If you want value and reliable transportation, buy the least complicated, best condition car you can find. If you want a Lexus GS specifically, then at least get one that's in good condition. Not "good for $2,500", but actually good condition.
