homelink ?
Do you have Genie or Liftmaster? Liftmaster uses Security 2.0 which is not compatible...ask me how I know. After my Genie garage door motor died I called a company that installed a new Liftmaster...big mistake.
After trying for 10 min the installer told me I needed an additional "homelink compatible bridge" to work with my 2GS. I was like huh? My Genie worked fine before now! Anyway, I ended up purchasing the internet gateway to open my garage door from anywhere from my phone. Do a search for "828LM LiftMaster Internet Gateway" on Amazon.

Some garage door openers have a button on them that you need to press before you can start to program your buttons in your Lexus. I tried mine since I have 3 Genie garage openers from the late 90's and none of them want to program with my Lexus but my town and country program just fine which is weird.
My steps are:
1 Clear vehicle's home link memory.
2 Teach the vehicle home link from the garage door's remote. [I generally drive about 1/4 mile away from home. You can unplug the garage door opener or set it to vacation mode]
3 Now bring the vehicle in the garage and teach the garage door opener to accept transmitted signal that the vehicle has learnt.
Item 3 procedure can vary from one opener to another opener brand. Pull up the PDF or the manual and follow those steps precisely.
If you do get the bridge ... make sure you follow the instructions exactly as printed. I tried to be cute and tried to do it intuitively and failed.
