2-din install
I'm looking for information on getting the factory amp to work with an aftermarket head unit. Reading around has shed light on this being an issue. You can Install a new unit and have the speakers working fine, but no sub woofer function etc. Some have mentioned tapping into the harness at some points. All vague and no good info. I'm looking at a Pioneer MVH-300ex double din touch screen due to its affordable price and that it does what I want. Just want to be able to pair via bluetooth for music and hands free phone use.
I want it to be understood that I am more than satisfied with the factory speakers and amp/sub. My car is 20 years old now and the system sounds absolutely amazing. Bass thumps hard and music is crystal clear believe it or not. Far better than any car I've ever owned. So I really don't want to change anything. I'm only mentioning this because I will have several people come on here to say to just purchase an aftermarket amp/sub, and wire the speakers to the amp yadda yadda. This is a lot more work, money, time, and excess components I don't want in the vehicle.
There must be a way to wire in the factory 5 channel amplifier. Ideally if anyone has or knows where to obtain a diagram of where to tap into the harness, or any pics of the process, or a diy guide, that would be amazing.

The Pioneer Amps used in the Lexus branded GS are controlled AVC LAN, even if you're able to power it you would still need to be able to tell it to turn the volume up to a certain level. All requires specific commands to do so. It is also only 40 watts RMS per channel. Not worth the time or effort.
