Hi Guys,

Does anyone know what options are there for retrofitting a 1998 GS with true HID headlights?

How much is the OEM kit from Lexus? Are there any wholesalers for Lexus parts?

Thanks for any info.

PS I know that the HID is a 400 dollar option when you first buy the car. I am wondering how much more it is to add it on later...

This has been addressed several times on the site. Try doing a search on it.

The bottom line is that to retrofit the correct Lexus parts is BIG $$$$.

Overboost just did an article on how to install aftermarket HIDS.

First and foremost, you have to realize that the best option to get the factory look, is to order the proper lenses, as your halogen have a different light path design, which means that they would not look stock with a conversion. Lexus charges around $400-600 a lens, but this contact: graham@jmlexus.com can actually get them for only $212 a piece. If you have Lexus do the whole conversion it is around $2500, but if you order a kit, you're looking at around $1200 doing it yourself.
