Default Problem after new Front Catalytic Converter Installed

After installing a new front catalytic Converter, i noticed the exhaust note was different. It now has more of a higher pitch ( like a tin can sound) to the exhaust note then before ( i have a muffler delete with tips welded on) it has more of a deep tone to it. after making sure everything was on correctly, i did a test drive and thats when i found out the exhaust note was different and i also noticed that the car did not want to get it and go like it used to. i do not know what else to look for in the car.
Thanks.

Without thinking, first thing that comes to mind is that your old ones were so clogged that the now cleared ones are allowing more sound to pass through which would naturally change the sound. As for the power loss, I'd say give it some time. With the above statement, you now have more free flowing exhaust which I would believe would cause some performance issues which I'd believe the computer would eventually compensate for.

I say for the heck of it, unplug the battery and reset the ECU and see if it makes things re-calibrate faster.

Wouldn't a catalytic converter that isn't clogged create less backpressure than a clogged one?

Crap, major typo! LoL I meant to say more "free flowing" exhaust, but the concept of back pressure was stuck in my head Forgive me... I've "had a few"

i started the car and let it sit for couple of minutes and after that i revved the engine quite a few times. the sound was back to its original sound now but she still hesitate a little bit when giving some gas. I had my dad bring home the CEL scanner from lexus to make sure any codes didnt appear and they didnt. Tomorrow im taking the car to work which is 30 mins away and hopefully it helps out a little bit.
