Default Sporadic HID Auto-Leveling

Hey everyone,

My GS300 with HID auto-leveling has recently started to move when it doesn't need to. There are no lights on the dash regarding the auto-leveling system. I assume it's not a servo issue since both headlights move at the same time so I'm guessing its a sensor issue. Do you know any way of diagnosing this? Which parts might I be looking at to replace? Below is a video of the vehicle sitting in a flat driveway in park and the lights randomly adjusting.

The car has both sensors on the left wheels F/R. They are tied to the suspension arms. Check if maybe the nut that holds the levers to the sensor is not loose.

I would start with the sensors on the front wheels. Take the connection off and clean the contacts as well.

Update to this old thread

The leveling warning light has been constantly on for the past 3 months but the headlights still do that initial up-down level when the vehicle starts. I'm confident the motors are fine so I'll rule them out.

I just removed the front ride height sensor and checked it on a multi-meter. I don't know what the expected values are but it did change resistance when sweeping from an up and down position. It looks like it is ok.

I replaced my cracked HID housings a few years ago and the new ones came with an HID leveling ECU. I have my old headlight ECU as a spare so Ill try replacing that after testing the rear height sensor.

Ok, that's interesting. My car was hit on the front right corner. The fender was replaced and the the inner sheetmetal pulled. But, the light still points a little up and to the right. My lights no longer go through their up-down cycle when starting the car and turning on the lights. But, they do still react to acceleration and seem to be at the right height upon start-up.
