Default Battery or starter issue?

Was finally able to take a video of a intermittent issue I'm having. The car will seem to crank halfway then stop? Happens about once a month. 90% of the time it starts fine with no issues.

Battery was replaced about 3 years ago, the starter about 8.

I say check the wiring, focus on the lead from the starter to the battery. It sounds like the wire is just close enough to arc and engage everything but once it demands that extra oomph to start, it looses the firm connection. I'm a bit slow at the moment and cant remember if the starter grounds itself when mounted (I believe it does), if not, then check the ground on the starter. I'm pretty sure its gonna be the lead wire. Also check the relay, it could be acting up causing the same symptoms. and if all that pans out... then yes, very much a possibility of it being the battery.

Thanks, will check it out and let you know. I read something about the lead wire causing problems.

No starting issues in the last week, but finally got a chance to remove and clean the battery terminals today. As you can see in the photo there was some corrosion but I cleaned it really good and hopefully won't have any further issues.

Yep, that could do it. The corrosion is just enough to not allow full contact with the terminal as I mentioned before. This should solve the problem
