Radio cuts out when applying brakes.
This use to happen mostly when it would rain, but its starting to do it when its dry. When I apply the brakes the radio will cut out, then come back on with the Lexus logo on the navigation screen. The battery is about 2.5 years old. Could this be the alternator starting to go out?
And at night I have noticed the gauges will dim slightly when he brakes are applied as well.
Thanks for any help.

I had something kind of similar to this happen a few years ago and before tearing into my dash as the tech was advised to do by Lexus, he first replaced the battery and the problem was solved. It never happened again. I would certainly try the battery replacement first regardless of how it test.

Yes, definitely a possibility. Pressing the brakes not only activates the brake lights, but turns the master cylinder on. All together it puts a load on the electrical system. Yes under normal circumstances all is fine, but with the large dip in voltage, it can effect the weaker systems. Can either be your battery or your alternator. As stated above, best to try the cheap easy thing first

I will check the battery out. It gave me issues about 2.5 years ago, so maybe this one is going too. My car just stopped on me when I was parked. I was able to restart it and got it home. Need to head out to the parts store today.
