GS430 30k service
my GS430 is in for 30k service and i wanted to run something by you guys - how long do brake pads typically last in your cars?
and was there anything outside of the normal 30k tuneup cost that you had to pay extra for because of excessive wear and tear?
i'm not a crazy driver, but i'm no soccer mom either. i just want to make sure i don't get convinced into buying parts i don't need. my lease is up next july (another 14k miles), so if i can wait or hold out on certain expenses, i definitely will ! (Lexus can pay for that during the CPO process
)
thanks for any advice!

I just purchased my 99 GS400 recently with 27K miles and it still have plenty of brake pads left. The brakes on my previous 93 LS400 didn't need brake pads until 93K miles. My Lexus dealer here charges $700 FOR 30,000-mile service. The Lexus service department wrote down % brake left on my car during routine services.

you should not be paying Lexus 500 or a grand to do stuff that is gonna be in favor of the next customer who will most likely go back to Lexus and have all the stuff changed
another tip is if the work is not warranty skip the dealer unless they off excellent prices
edit: the brake pads on the GS could maybe last till 60k if your not heating them up all the time, my 39 month lease Nissans never needed pads except for the Pathfinder that I racked up an extra 20k worth of miles but gave it back to them with 38k
My crappy Nissan dealer told me I needed pads at 30k on my other Pathfinder and I went another 9k to the end of my lease
their out to screw the customer and make you think their doing you good, my second Pathfinder I did 10k oil changes

.
My car needed rear pads at ~35k miles. Now I have 40K and need front pads. My 98 GS 400 needed the front breaks before the rear breaks. I just don't understand it.
