would I be out of line if I asked why you require a boomslang harness to go with a apexi air fuel controller? the apexi only requires a few wires to hook up for altering the mass air flow signal. I have experience with boomslang and I can tell you that I had to rewire mine when I got it initially new from boomslang. You should acquire a factory wiring diagram with pin out views than confirm your boomslang is wired correctly.

the Harness is not set to the right pins. There is threads on here showing the correct pins#.
an un-tuned car will show lean or rich code..most likely rich... but not a MAF Malfunction code.

Were all of these things done?
1. Initialize
2. Select 4 cylinder (yes, in the manual it says to do this for Toyota V8s)
3. Set throttle calibration (setting voltages by depressing and pressing gas pedal)
4. Select HOT WIRE type sensor, number 13 (the number 13 is very important, this is the type of MAF voltage specs for our cars)
Here is a diagram below that was successfully used by member GILLEXUS with his 2001 GS430. Seven connection areas, just like on my Boomslang/Apexi so a total of eight wires coming out of the harness when you account for the two wires that intercept the MAF.
