Default more on ECU resetting....

I think I've found a alternative to resetting the ECU for my 02 GS430. I'd seen someone else mention this in another thread about driving around (except on the freeway) in 4th rather than 5th (Drive). On my car it completely changes the way the car shifts in lower gears. I just notice how after awhile if I don't reset my ECU the car immediately wants to get up to 5th gear as quickly as possible and when your coasting around at slower speeds and you wanna give it alittle gas it just seems to moan and finally drop to a lower gear to get more power. When you have your car 'gated' at 4th it doesn't seem to do this in ANY gear. Give it a try and let me see what you guys think. Also, thanks to whoever talked about that in the previous ECU thread.

I always drive in 4th, car is a lot more responsive and I don't get the hesitation dip I use to get due to the TC around 30MPH under light acceleration. I still yank the ECU fuse though to clean out the tranny memory once every few weeks or so. I think it was Bit who mentioned to drive in 4th gear.

You're welcome guys. Driving in M-4 / gated 4th is a good mod (and cheap!).
