Repair Manual Available?
Just bought my bride a used 2003 GS300, and she's a beauty (both, actually)! I was hoping to be able to access a repair manual for those occasions where some DIY activity is needed, but can't seem to find it here on the site.
Can someone please point me in the right direction? Thanks much.

Welcome!
welcome to the club!
there is a lot of good info on this site for certain problems with the GS that are common like door lock actuators. but if you truly want a manual you can get physical books on ebay for $200-$350 or use sites that are the book just in pdf formats. just depends on your needs.

Thanks much. I had found the ChiltonDIY site (most likely what I will use when Clublexus doesn't have the answers), and seen the eBay stuff as well; I was worried about the PDF sites, as they seemed a little "sketchy" from a virus protection standpoint.
I've graduated from working on 4Runners, Camrys, and Corollas, and am used to being able to just get a Haynes manual for $30; I guess the sales volume (and clientele) for Lexus models might skew somewhat from DIYers like myself...
I love the resources (both technical and social) available on these forums, and appreciate your feedback and help. Thanks again.

I believe the difference between chiltons and haynes and the ones from the dealer is that the dealer books/pdf files are complete and over 2000 pages compared to the small ones from chiltons and haynes. I have the PDF version from Lexus and its 2100 pages. I would assume theres more info.

You can buy the factory manuals on eBay. I paid $125 including shipping. I have the PDF version but so much nicer having the actual hard copy.
A Chilton or a Haynes is useful to kneel on when you work on your car.

LOL, indeed. If I could find a set on eBay for less than $150, I would buy it; so far, though, no good luck.
Since most of my work is A or B tech work only (I generally am looking only for torque specs, diagrams, codes, and process flow stuff; I don't do trannies, electrical, or full engine tear-downs), Chiltons does work for me; I don't expect I'll ever have the "special tools" collection seemingly required to complete most OEM-specific repair work.
Thanks again.
