Default DRL upgrade.

Hey everyone,

I got some 9005 LED bulbs in. When I turn the car on it does not light up because the DRL runs at 6v. my purpose towards buying them was to get the 6k look on the DRL. Can someone help me out towards how to achieve this? Will I have to go HID kit? Thanks.

if you search there are many topics on this question. If you search the d2r bulb you will find the simple made fuse jumper mod you can run to have that function turned off or to run just a plain hid kit instead of the d2r. Also if you use an led for the d2r you WILL lose your highbeam bulb. I made the fuse jumper and on the fence about installing it or just running with the ugly yellow bulbs..

Ok Thanks. I was hoping I could use these leds since I have already spent 25 on them. So for plug and play and automatic lighting of the bulbs (DRL), a Hid kit would be the only option? I see the harness but what else would I need. I was looking at those xentec kits.

Dreamcar88,
I think drizzygs3 talk about DRL and not the low D2R 9005 HID is for high. But is a good information any way.
Thanks,

No... drizzygs3,
You no need anything else. Is just plug and play. I have the same HID Kit for more of 3 years and any issue at all. If the HID light no turn ON after you install the kit, just unplug and turn the plug 180 degree plug in back and try again. Good luck

Ok I just bought the relay. So my understanding is that i just need to install my led's to the relay from the stock harness?? Nothing else?

These are the bulbs I purchased..
Thanks Mcon.

Yesssss, Follow the instructions and that's it. Ground on ground, power to battery, the relay plug on where you want to install the relay and the plugs on the ballast and you ready. Again, if no turn ON, unplug, turn 180 degree plug in back and turn ON again.

This mine HID Kit with 9005 on it.

Another recommendation to you than I did when I install my relay. I put the relay near to the passenger light and the longer plug or terminaI I ran that plug behind the top of the radiator to the driver light side. That way the long plug reach the driver side much better. Good luck :-)
