Default HID help

Ok so I'm trying to get HIDs for my 99 gs300, the car does not have HIDs on it right now but of course I want them lol. The question is the following, I spoke to the people that sell them and told me I would need a relay for my high beams because they are also the DRLs but I wouldn't need anything else for the low beams? Is this correct, I was told by another place that I would need resistors because the car tells me when a light is out. Does anyone know what I will need to get these done?

Only run HID for your low beams. This will eliminate the need for any special wiring or relays. factory high beams work fine. I don't personally know if resistors are needed but this subject has been covered many times here. I suggest searching the 2GS forum for "HID install" or "HID kit" or other similar terms to find more information. Doing a little research will help you get a better understanding of your vehicle and how the install will go.

That said you may or may-not know that running HID bulbs in your non-HID light housings will have poor performance due to the light not being correctly aimed and will distract, even blind (momentarially) oncoming drivers. It's best to get some OEM HID housings, some aftermarket housings with a projector lens, or retrofit your existing housing with a projector setup.
