Ok so i bought this old 98 gs300 with 145k the thing was driving great temperature's been around 60-80's this whole time but today it got to bein 92 degrees farenheight and my gs was sluggish on the gas when accelerating from a red light. Parked up thought id look at it later and clean out the MAF which i have not done yet but im asking is what could it be?? MAF throttle body or IACV ? Where should i start i feel like the weather affected my baby she was driving like a dream now when i try and turn her on it starts up but wont accelarate and turns off on me HELP GUYS THIS IS MY DAILY!
One of many things, could be o2 sensors. Are you getting any codes?
BTW, welcome to Club Lexus!
Thanks Bro but thats the thing the CEL's are not turning on im confused, i kno theirs lights in em too because when i use to turn my car on id see everything turn on
check the battery or electric stuff like alternator. When my battery was going bad and it got really hot out the car would lose power... Check the terminals, battery, alternator.... But this does sound like a bad MAF or something throttle body related.,
Update- ok guys so its just as i suspected the fuel pump was no longer working luckily i have a family friend that works at lexus that agreed with me on that so i changed the fuel pump and shes back on the road riding smooth.
