Default Drl : Hid?

I searched, under HID, and all the varients of Daytime Running Lights possible...but is there away to swap my halogen to HID and have it perform properly?

I tried searching, but if this is already a topic, someone please post it up. I would appreciate it!

yes this has been spoken plenty of times. Ballasts need 12v to work, DRL's run on 6v. You'll burn your ballasts out. A simple google search gave me 1,000,000 results on this, the very first one gave a "fix" to the problem:

http://www.hidplanet.com/forums/show...-NO-FLICKERING

in his case, he got flickering. This is caused by low voltage sent to ballast. He set it up to where the DRL signal went from 6v to 12v. However, this doesnt give you DRL's, it gives you high beams on at all times. There is also a DIY on how to disable the DRL's. I didnt read the whole post cause just at a glance I see ignorance.

In answer to your question, theres no way to get true DRL's from an HID, it will be high beam.

My searching was on here, and the bits I could find on google where for 06's and up. Even videos and walkthroughs on 06s and up. Maybe I should have put it to gs300 and not gs430. I appreciate the link, but there was no ignorance on my bloody end mate.

Ill just go to LEDs , since HID doesnt seem to truly work.

Naw everybody got it wrong cause I was half asleep and as I just reread, it could be made sense, but I flip flopped on 2 different subjects and made a mess.

I didnt read the whole post of the link I posted because that post was just pure ignorance.

Northstyle, you were close, but those 2 sentences you posted needed to be flipped on my part and then it would all make sense

The moral of my post is that there's no such thing as HID drl's no matter what car you own or what year it is

I can say that I change my high light to HID lights. I buy a HID Harnnes that have a fuse 30Am but if you buy one that is 40Am fuse is better.

My best evidence. LOL Also, you need to past a wire harnes from passenger side to dri er side to comply the change to HID.

Also, buy the quit start HID for the high bean. The regular HID toIt 30 seconds to heat up 100% and get the light that you need or want. In an emergency situation like here in Central Florida with many tourists is better if you buy quit start the HID kit.

Ive had LEDs before, and one of the banks went dead after a year....ijdmtoy setup..the cheapo. Nothing new to plug them in and run the wire again. I just ran it up under the front rad support. Going to go for the better quality kit, since it works for both drl and brights.
