ECU unit.....good idea ?
My first 1000 mile service is coming up pretty soon, I am wondering if it is a good idea to have my dealer installed the ECU unit for me at that time.
For those of you who have the ECU unit installed in your car (assuming there are no other mod such as springs/shocks), do you lose a lot of power assist function? I heard that it takes more effort to manuver the car. How much more difficult is it to manuver the car around? Can a sixty year old grandma still handle the car with the ECU unit? Ok, how about a fifty year old grandma.......?
I have to admit that the current setup often cause over steer when driving at high speed........
Thanks for your comments......

the only modification I did to my GS430 is the ECU (so far) and I believe it is a very worthwhile investment. I put it on about 2 weeks ago with 900 miles on my car and the only times I have really felt the difference with the ECU is driving during high speeds and when trying to park.
It is great at high speeds because you feel like you have more control of the car.
However when parallel parking, the steering is a little tighter than before but it is not that bad that you will end up breaking a sweat after your done.

Kaju - It's a great mod for giving road feedback & taking the slop out of the steering. If ya go up in wheel size, U'll notice that it gets even tighter but at no time would I consider it difficult to handle the steering chores. My 5' 1", 112# wife can turn mine ( ours? ) with ease & I've got 18's so call Steve at Carson Toyota & do the deed!
