Default Climate control on 2001 GS 430 not working

I've searched through many threads, but didn't see one that addresses this issue. I just bought a 2001 GS 430 with 140k and I have no heat or AC...no fan. Radio and trip info work fine. I can change the fan speed on the lcd and if I bypas the control relay, the fan will work intermittently but only when the display would flash on. Every 2 seconds the AC and fan speed selected flash and then every 15 seconds it goes back to a screen that says "no disk detected" and then if you push the climate button it will go back to the 2 second flashing. It stopped working for the previous owner, but that is all of the details I have prior to my ownership.. The AC clutch relay tested ok, all fuses I've checked are ok. Thanks for any help I can get.

update after more troubleshooting today...still having to bypass the heater relay but I now have heat and control over the fan. I've got electrical specs but at the moment can't figure out why I'm not getting power to make that relay for the heat. On the A/C side, it still isn't working, but need to get it fully charged to rule that out, I just finished putting it back together after replacing the explansion vavlue which showed signs of being stuck open.
