New stablemate for the GS4
Trending Topics
Yeah, I kind of wanted a new 4th gen GS but the 350 just didn't cut it. It's a really nice car when it's fully loaded but coming from the GS400 I just needed to have a V8 under the hood. Decided to go with the next best thing. LS460 was also ok but not quite ready to go full out luxo-barge. I like to think I still got a bit of Sport left in me. Hope I can handle everything the ISF throws at me!!!
I see the only benefits of owning the 4gen GS coming from the 2gen GS400/430 is a new exterior, interior, and its a bit more efficient on gas; since it has about the same power as the 2gen400/430. Now what you have there is a powerhouse and an excellent choice for an upgrade. When I had a chance to drive it, my heart was always racing. I loved everything about it, only downside was that even with 4 doors, its basically a 2 seater like several other compact cars.
Have any plans for the F?

Although I am already scanning the boards for ideas, I suspect I will keep everything stock for a while yet. I want to make sure I really appreciate all the goodies this car has to offer before I make any updates, plus it's only a 2012 so lots of warranty left to keep in mind.
The GS is really comfortable like sitting in a big easy chair. The F is a real snug fit. I am not big at 5-9, 170lbs and I definitely feel some what compacted in there. I suspect part of this is because I have been driving a GS for a long time. I remember when I first got the GS I thought it was really big. Not so much anymore. I'll probably feel more comfortable in the F over time also.
The ride on F is stiffer (obviously). Even though on my GS I have TRD sways, l-tuned springs and KYB shocks, it is still quite smooth and comfy. The F although stiffer is quite liveable.
And then there is the acceleration factor in F...WOW!!! I used to like the GS, but the F is in another league. It's going to be a real expensive ride when you can chirp the tires with hardly an effort, on the fly not just from standstill.
Not sure what you mean by big adjustment.

The GS really is a perfect size IMO.... I used to think it was really big as well but its grown on me for many years and now its the norm....
