Cool Stiffening Caps

Dazz - Any name brand like Stinger, RF, etc. will do just fine. Remember the rule of thumb is 1 farad/1000 watts so if U've got ALOT of power, might consider the 15 farad Alumapro C.A.P. , of which I've seen several at contests recently. It has an MSRP of $550 which is VERY reasonable on a cost/farad basis as most 1 farad numbers go for $125 or so. Be sure & power it up slowly ( either through an adjustable battery charger or with the resistor most companies ship their caps with ) as I have seen some blow up ( the cheaper brands ) when suddenly hit with 12-14 volts!! Just a suggestion but U might want to consider posting audio questions in the Electronics Forum so we can getcha the answers quicker - I don't always check the GS threads as often as I do the Electronic area, despite the title of "Super Moderator", whatever the heck that means!!?

Hey Mean Gene. Thanks for your reply. I'm only pushing an 800 watt amp, so the 1 farad will do just fine. I'll be sure to remember to post to the Electronics area next time. Also how hard is it to install yourself?

Talking Simple Wiring Job

Dazz - it's an EZ job to wire in the cap between the battery & bass amp while U're wiring up the system. Use some good power & ground wires ( 4 or 6 awg ) for an 800 watt amp & U should be fine!
