Default Tapping noise coming from dash

Okay so I've looked up and looked up and I can't find anything. Everyone hears a noise from there passenger but there is a tapping noise coming from under my steering wheel. It's only sounds when I have it on "on" (not cranked) and when the engine is running. 2003 gs 300 with 142,000 miles. Please help thanks a lot in advance

Don't mean to be simplistic, but had the same kind of tapping. Turned out to be the keys hitting the dash.

Is it a continuous tapping?

Check and make sure your foglights aren't blinking on and off rapidly.

Sounds silly...but when that happens the relay taps continuously

Can you distinguish the noise from your brake booster cycling?
