Default Can't Believe It - Need New Front Bumper - Update

This morning on the way to work I was driving down the freeway at around 5:30am and in this dark section, there was a tire on the road that I didn't see. I'm sure you know what happened next. I was going pretty fast too. Well, the front passenger side bumper is pretty shot, it even bent my right front fender up a little. My xpel kit that I just had put on two weeks ago is toast now too. So now, I might as well put my stock bumper back on forget about a kit...it just seems like a headache to me.

I am going down after work today and see how much it is going to cost to repair it. Might as well, just have it repaired. I am more pissed about my xpel kit that I just put on two weeks ago.

Thanks Dag,

I was actually driving on 60mph, but it was dark.. and to think I have 4000k HID too. I just didn't see it before it was too late. I just called my insurance. I might go through them to get it fixed and put my xpel back on. My deductable is low so it might be a better choice.

Well I hope that everything works out well and that the Insurance company picks out a good body shop for you!!

Take care,

Hey bro, don't get down...you can't blame it on the kit...it would have happen to your stock bumper too...just sometime, stuff happens...it shouldn't be too much to repair and repaint the front bumper...that's the nice thing about fiberglass....

same thing happened to me 2 weeks ago when a blown tire on the 5 freeway smacked my ls400 in the front bumper. needed a new bumper after that cuz it ripped the bottom portion of the bumper. sucks, totally sucks.

Sorry to hear about your bumper bro. I know you put a lot of effort getting the Xpel. What's broken can always be fixed and hopefully the bumper can be fixed. By the way, about a month ago I hit a tire strip on the freeway but lucky for me, nothing happend to the bumper. Good luck!

Thanks for the responses everyone. The update is that my insurance company won't cover the xpel, didn't think they would. I am dropping the car off today to get it fixed. Maybe Ill be able to get a new bumper out of this. Think maybe I'll try poly this time around.

Hey Mike, keep me update with this. I told you I was thinking about a poly front bumper too. Also, let me know the quality of this body shop where you drop your car off. Just in case I need to repaint my existing or the potential replacement. Thanks! oh, thanks for loaning the wheels too.

If your fender got bent, a poly bumper would hardly help...most likely, it too would have been damaged beyond repair....do you have a photo of the damage?
