Hi all,
New to the forum, have a 98 GS400 with 234,XXX mi. Passenger side headlight turned pink a couple days ago. Did some research and found that the bulb was starting to go out. Went to autozone and grabbed a new Sylvania HID D2R... came home and installed it and had no light. Reinstalled the factory one and it light up pink, so i assume I have a bad bulb and return it to autozone in exchange for a new one. Installed the new one and it immediately lit up bright white. walked away from the car for about 10 minutes and went to leave, turned on the headlights and the passenger side did not come on. When you get real close you can see the light acting like it wants to come on and there is a static buzzing noise for a second or two then nothing. From what it looks like to me it is a ballast problem, am I correct in assuming that or am I totally off base? Sorry if this has been covered before but could not find my problem while searching. Never had to deal with HID before so not exactly sure, any help would be appreciated!

Yes your ballast is shot...check a junkyard for a used one
