Default Transmission Flush?

Is it bad to do a transmission flush on a high mileage (regularly serviced) Lexus Gs300? My car has 177,000 miles and has been regularly serviced. Sometimes I feel a slight slipping and wanted to do a complete transmission flush. I have read mixed reviews about doing a transmission flush on high mileage vehicles due to gunk breakup ruining the trans or torque converter. Does anybody have any experience or input here? I am going to the dealer for a new key soon anyway so I would have them do it and replace the filter as well. Thanks
