Default RHD GS300 Project

I know alot of people are going to tell me this is dumb, or a waste of time and money. I respect your opinions but this is something I really want to do. I want to swap a 2002 Lexus GS300 to RHD with or without a 2JZ swap. This car has been sitting around for a while collecting dust in a garage and I want to do something crazy! Im looking for people who will offer advice, guidence, and direction on this project. I am also looking for a company (Nation Wide) or person that is able to do this swap with me providing the full clip! Thanks in advance!!!! If you know of anyone that has done this please let me know!!!!!!!

You should look into buying a RHD GS, it may be cheaper than covering one. You can sell the one you have now to cover some of the funds for the project

Honestly, unless you just want a project, it'd be cheaper to import a RHD GSfrom the UK as they are cheap over there for excellent condition models. To give you an example: I purchased my 01 GS430 Sport with 130k miles in excellent condition for appx $3800USD.

...makes you wonder why people pay so much in the US. Japan's the same as used cars are really reasonably priced as well. I'm getting off topic though.

I'm military and was stationed in the UK. I'm in Korea now (12 month tour), but my car and wife are still there until my time here is up and we move to Germany.

Is this a project you're looking to take on yourself or are you looking for a shop to find you a clip and do the swap for you?

Depends on how he can go about registering the car and not have to jump through paperwork hoops. Personally I'd rather do a swap and leave it LHD since you're in a LHD country and it makes it easier to drive and actually able to see around cars if you decide to pass for example. RHD is nothing more than a novelty in the states IMO.

I know of a couple of shops in South Florida that can find you a clip and do the conversion for you as long as you're willing to ship your car.

Hey there, I'm from the UK & Northstyle is right.
You can pick up GS's over here for very little up to a lot, lol.

I bought my 01 430 Sport for $1560 dollars with 69k on her & service history. Admittedly, this was very cheap, but I know a breaker round the corner from me with a complete car. It would prob cost you the same.

People in Florida be charging for Aristo's! When I had mine - 1995 JZS147 Toyota Aristo - I got mine for a good price from someone who imported it but then needed the money to close on a house! Im not paying $12,000+ for an Aristo!!!

Can you buy a canadian JZS161 and register it under your old car's number?

I think it would be easier to swap the VIN stamps than to swap a whole dashboard, pedals, brakebooster, bla bla bla..

My friend got a mint JZS161 Vertex edition with 90k km for $8000...Comp tests like a brand new engine..pearl white with blackwood and blue cloth (NOT a downgrade from leather, this is like no cloth interior i've ever seen) and has all the JDM options that we don't have here.
