I doubt you'd throw a code as all of the oxygen sensors are upstream of it (if it's anything similar to the GS400/430).

Isn't there a pre and post cat sensors? Wouldn't it then affect somehow if you remove the cat?

its the 3rd cat. It should have a o2 sensor behind it. Install deleted pipe an place an o2 simulator w/ o2 sensor in the bung.

The third cat doesn't have an O2 sensor behind it. In theory, you should be able to remove it and be perfectly OK.

I actually have a 2001 GS430 catback on my car, as I swapped with a fellow who wanted the complete resonator/center muffler/cat delete I had on my car. So yes, it will be just fine.

I have an 01' GS430. Since mine has 2 catalytics up front and 1 going back, I'd agree to say this is a catalytic converter. My mechanic says most ppl do not know this until further researching it. He says there's no sensor hooked up to it so there's never an exact way of knowing weather it's bad or not. Once it's TERRIBLY bad, you'll NOTICE. I hope whatever your problem is, it gets resolved soon. Good luck my friend!

Hey Thomas, when you swapped out your 3rd catalytic, did you ever have any CE light problems with it? I just purchased my cats new from Sewell and I am doing a full exhaust tune up soon. I noticed that all o2s are located BEFORE this 3rd cat.. I see you wrote it's ok. So is it really? I'd like to do that to my GS430 bro. And if it did work out all properly, did it give you any type of change performace wise? If you can share your personal take on this, I'd deeply appreciate it bro! Any pics of new catback swap? Yes Yes!!

Default gs430

When I had my gs430 supercharged i killed my 2 front cats, so I removed all three cats and had larger piping and 2 hi flow aftermarket cats added up front. Deleted the rear. Much cheaper than buying oem cats, no cel light car ran great. I have since removed the SC and car still runs perfect. Been a couple years now.
Also cats are california compliant and passed smog just fine

Are you going forced induction? If not, then you don't need 3" piping unless you just want a loud car. ****-adkt schooled me well on that.
