Default Rear Deck Rattle

As the title states. I generally am not a thread starter but I have yet to see a solution to this problem. At least on these forums. I KNOW someone else has to have this issue. I hear a very annoying rattle in the rear deck. Its a noise that is definitely coming from the rear interior although I cannot seem to locate it. I've yanked the bottom seat out and felted that area and it still makes a rattle noise. Anyone know where this sound is coming from? What is it? Everything appears to be solid in the rear esp the sub. The noise is a metal on metal clanging noise over the slightest of bumps. Keep in mind, I am referring to the interior, so please no suggestions of the brake clips, rear knuckle bushings or anything that has anything to do with the exterior of the car. Thanks in advance.

........how bout a video? OR why dont you ride in the back seat (with the seat pulled) while someone drives around and try and find it? my trunk bar has a broken tab on it and it rattles but who knows without us being able to hear it.

See, when someone sits back there, the sound leaves. It's what makes me think that its related to the seat and the metal that the seat rests on. Someone else on here had this problem but he was never able to come to a resolution. Then he disappeared without telling us whether he solved his issue or not. I'll see if I can post a vid or a sound clip tonight

then you dont get off so easily.....y not bump his thread instead of making a new one?

i suggest a video and try having someone in the back in different sides of the car, maybe on the floor or maybe remove the x-brace and listen for it

Lol! I figured it was coming Brian. I was actually going to bump that thread but the tread went nowhere. Figured since two years have passed, maybe more GS owners would chime in since the car is much older now.

I do know that ThomasGS4 had this problem as he posted in that thread stating he was dealing with a similar issue. Curious to know if he ever resolved it or not.

My GS430 just developed this rattle over the last couple days. Driving me nuts, so I just turn the music up!

Yea I wasn't able to get a sound clip last night. I'll see if I can get it done tonight. I'm about to rip the entire rear interior out. That's how annoying this damn sound is.....

I had a similar rattle noise in the rear interior and it took me forever to figured it out. Mine came from the rear cup holder. When I put the rear arm rest down the noise goes away. Yours might not be it but give it a shot.

Just wanted to update. I found the source of my rattle noise. It actually wasn't coming from the rear at all. It was my front passenger seat. All I did was move the seat up and reclined it forward (my girlfriend is little) and noticed that the rattle went away. This morning I drove in to the office and not a peep from the cabin. I have to do more research on how the passenger seat is making this sound that positions itself in the rear when the seat is reclined all the way back. But for now, it's very, very quiet. Thanks for those who contributed to this thread.
